HEBER CITY — Police arrested a man they believe was involved in a 24-hour crime spree.
Heber City Police received a report of a stolen vehicle Friday at approximately 2:45 p.m., Heber City Police said.
The vehicle was stolen near 200 North 100 West in Heber City. Police believe Colby Dean Bronson, 28 of Midway, stole the vehicle and fled the area.
Police lost sight of him near Hwy 189 and SR-92, but found the vehicle around Sundance Resort.
Utah County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Division of Natural Resources, Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office, Heber City Police Department, Provo Police Department and Utah Department of Public Safety teamed up and searched the area through the night.
After seeing Bronson on evening news coverage, watchful citizens spotted him and alerted law enforcement. Utah County Sheriff’s Office took Bronson into custody on Saturday.
Bronson was booked on the following charges: Motor vehicle theft, fleeing, co-habitant abuse, theft, fraudulent use of a credit card and two counts of vehicle burglary.
“This is a great example of what law enforcement and citizens can accomplish when working together,” said Dave Booth, Heber City police chief.
