(KSL News) Lots of Utah farmers are hoping to grow the perfect pumpkin, and by perfect they mean big!

They even have an organization called "Utah Giant Pumpkin Growers," with weigh-offs throughout this month.

It's become a passion for Andrew Israelsen, who tends to his patch several hours a day. He gave us this tip: "You need three things to grow a big pumpkin: good seed, good soil and good luck."

The state record, set last year, is 1,104 pounds.
