Randall Jeppesen reportingA national group pushing for homosexual rights is on the campus of Brigham Young University. Members from the Soulforce Equality talked to students about acceptance of all people.
Glen Lau says they aren't going to change his views, but he doesn't mind them being there.
"Shows a lot about BYU that the school would just allow them to come," Lau says.
Standard of Liberty Foundation director Steve Graham was going to be at the school to offer a different message, but LDS Church leaders asked him to just let the group come and go without confrontation.
"Anybody that participates in homosexuality or just encourages it is not doing any favors for society," Graham says.
Alexey Bulkhov with Soulforce Equality says they just want students to listen to their message.
"They can be gay and Christian. They can have a life of dignity and integrity. And they do not have to kill themselves," Bulkhov says.
Police arrested five demonstrators Monday for trespassing. BYU officials say the group planned to be in violation of campus policy, even telling officers where they would be and what they would be doing in order to be arrested.
A second demonstration is planned for today.
