One of the great unheralded resources to us sports guys is the Sports Information Director.

Each team has one (or several). They usually come with different titles, but they are the liaisons between the media and the players/coaches. They are also fountains of knowledge.

The Jazz have their gaggle of uber-Jazz nerds, Linda Luchetti, Jonathan Rinehart, Derek Garduno and Hannah Lee... but I'm going to single out Derek Garduno because he sends me some incredible pregame info that I need to pass along.

STANDINGS
The Jazz is 27-15 (15-7 home, 12-8 road)
The Celtics are 32-9 (15-7 home, 12-6 road)

SERIES
· The Jazz is 36-45 all-time against the Celtics and 11-29 on the road Utah's last win in Boston came on 3/14/08 (110-92)
The Jazz have lost the last two games in Boston. Paul Pierce has led Boston in scoring in six of the past 10 meetings.

JAZZ NOTES
· Utah's bench has allowed a mere 25.4 points per game this season, the lowest in the NBA by any bench

The Jazz is 20-2 when scoring 100+ points, and 7-13 when scoring under 100 · The Jazz has the second lowest scoring averaging in the league in the first quarter (23.0) but the second highest scoring average in the fourth quarter (26.8) · With 12 come-from-behind-victories from double digit deficits this season, much praise belongs to the Jazz second unit for stepping up the defensive pressure. Utah's bench has allowed a mere 25.1 points per game this season, the lowest in the NBA by any bench · Seven times this season Utah has won a game in which it had trailed by 15-or-more points, which, less than halfway into the current season, is already the highest single-season total of wins of that type by any NBA team since the Jazz itself had eight such wins in the 2006-07 season · With 20 points in Wednesday's game against New Jersey, Deron Williams has scored at least 10 points in 48 consecutive games (4/2/10- 1/14/11), matching his previous record (12/29/07-4/4/08). Williams is five games away from Carlos Boozer's record of 51 games (12/19/09- 4/9/10), the longest streak in the last five seasons · Deron Williams has scored over 20 points in four straight games · Deron Williams and Al Jefferson are the second highest scoring point guard/center tandem in the NBA at 39.0 ppg

CELTICS NOTES
· The Celtics have won four straight following a two-game losing skid

· The Celtics are currently shooting 50.4 percent from the field as a team, a mark that has only been reached seven times previously over the course of an entire season in Celtics team history · Ray Allen is closing in on Reggie Miller's three‐point record for most threes made in a career, Miller holds the all‐time record with 2,560 make, Allen currently has 2,526 makes for his career and is just 27 away · Paul Pierce is shooting career‐highs in field goal percentage (51.4 percent) and free throw percentage (85.9 percent) · On 12/1 against Portland, Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce played their 200th game together since Garnett and Allen joined the team prior to the 2007‐08 season, over that span they are 150‐50 (.750) in games that they have all played together · The Celtics roster has a collective 52 All‐Star appearances, two MVP awards, four Finals MVP awards, 12 All‐NBA First Team members, one Most Improved Player award, one Defensive Player of the Year award, one Rookie of the Year award and nine All‐Defensive First Team members · The Celtics have taken 56 charges this season, compared to 27 by their opponents
