WALLSBURG, Wasatch County — Law enforcement officials have located marijuana plants with a street value of more than $60 million at locations in Wasatch and Sevier counties.

Officials pulled nearly 2,500 marijuana plants from a remote location on U.S. Forest Service property Friday in Wasatch County. That bust came on the heels of another, larger find in Sevier County, where more than 7,000 plants were uprooted Wednesday.

Suspects have yet to be named for either of the locations. The Walsburg site in Main Canyon is believed to have been abandoned, as the water source had been dry for a while, according to the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office.

BackNET, the local drug task force in Summit and Wasatch counties, received a tip that someone had found marijuana growing in Main Canyon. Crews from various law enforcement agencies hiked into the area and located the farm. Officials were working to remove loads of the plants via helicopter. The 2,500 plants will be destroyed, officials said.

Officials from several local, state and federal agencies also assisted in Wednesday's raid on the grow area near Cedar Creek Canyon in Sevier County but were unable to track down anyone working at the site.

People had been seen there several days prior to the bust, but no one was on site when police arrived and removed 7,267 plants. It is estimated that those marijuana plants have a potential street value of more than $50 million.
