LOGAN — Two Utah State football players were arrested or charged over the weekend for various crimes.

Utah State wide receiver Ronald Butler was arrested early Sunday morning for driving under the influence, according to Cache County Sheriff’s records. Teammate Bruce “JoJo” Natson, a wide receiver and punt returner, made an appearance in court Monday on theft charges.

The 22-year-old Butler, from Jersey City, New Jersey, was booked into the Cache County jail on charges of driving under the influence and improper usage of lanes, which are both class B misdemeanors. He was released on a $1,490 bail bond, according to police records.

Natson is reported to have diverted school funds that were intended for a fellow teammate, state attorney Jacob Gordon told Cache Valley Daily. He was charged in April for an incident that occurred in February, according to court records.

Judge Thomas Willmore ordered Natson to appear in court Aug. 4 on the charges he was facing. He was also assigned a public defender at the last hearing.

Butler played in 13 games, including two starts, as a junior. He registered 24 receptions for 346 yards and three touchdowns, including a season-high 148 yards receiving against Fresno State.

Natson, a junior from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was an all-Mountain West honorable mention punt returner as a sophomore in 2013. He has accounted for 351 yards on 31 punts in his Utah State career.
