SALT LAKE CITY - The University of Utah baseball team will host `An Evening with Dave Winfield' at the University Park Marriott on Feb. 15, 2011.

"It's an honor to have Dave Winfield continue the tradition of baseball greats who have participated in our season-opening banquet" Utah head coach Bill Kinneberg said. "It's a fun way to kick off our year and we always look forward to a great evening."

Winfield's 22-year baseball career includes eight years with the San Diego Padres and nine years with the New York Yankees. He also played stints with the California Angels, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians. Winfield drove in the winning run of the 1992 World Series with the Blue Jays and reached the 3,000 hit milestone with the Twins.

Dave Winfield was a 12-time all-star over a 22-year playing career.

The evening will feature a private reception at 6:00 p.m. with dinner beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the event are $100 per person or $1,000 per table. A live auction of sports memorabilia will begin after dinner.
