When you're a fan, you're normally a fan for life. So when you invest in fan wear or merchandise, you want it to last. That's exactly what Morris Griggs is providing with his business, U Rivals in Salt Lake City.
See, Morris wanted to put fan merchandise in an easy-to-reach location. Either Ute or Cougar fans can stop by the Gateway and pick up all the fan merchandise they need. With the football season winding down U Rivals is continuing to support both teams with other sports.
Although his business is in Utah, Morris lives and works in Boise. He's seen this model working successfully there and after taking a look at the Utah market, felt the business would be a great fit, especially with a dedicated fan base. Forbes Magazine has named Utah as the Best State for Business for three years running. The Kauffman Foundation has also voted Utah as one of four best states for small business and as the state with the most dynamic economy in the nation.
To have a true rivalry, you need two teams that think they have a chance to win. And this is exactly what we have with BYU and the U. It's the rivalry of all rivalries. With basketball season right around the corner, Morris plans to continue tapping into this famous U of U/BYU rivalry as he grows U Rivals.
