SALT LAKE CITY — Pleasant Grove got into a groove in a 5A quarterfinal victory over Alta.
So much so, that the Vikings made seven three-point attempts in a 78-55 win over the Hawks, at the Huntsman Center.
Pleasant Grove led by seven at the half, and Alta’s Carter Heslop cut the Vikings’ lead to five with a three-point shot early the third quarter. However, Pleasant Grove continued to make long-distance shots, making 10-of-16 three-point attempts in the game.
Pleasant Grove advances to face American Fork in the 5A semifinal.
Pleasant Grove’s Matt Conway led the Vikings in scoring with 25 points. The Vikings advance to face American Fork in the 5A semifinals at 7:30 Friday night at the Huntsman Center.
