OGDEN — The Bountiful Braves beat the Roy Royals 50-44 to advance to the 4A Semifinals on Friday.

Bountiful used their defense to keep the Royals in check the entire game. Roy shot 34.9% and just 2-18 from the 3-point line.

Roy Junior forward Brekkott Chapman was denied the ball and ended up with two points for the game, both coming from the free-throw line. Jesse Wayment and David Hadley picked up the slack for the Royals, scoring 16 and 13 points respectively.

The Braves were led by sophomore Zach Seljaas with 18 points and Sam Merrill pitched in 13.

Bountiful will face Sky View in the 5A semifinals Friday at 7:30 p.m.
