(Ogden) - Jake Miles scored 16 points and Morgan won the 3A Boys basketball state championship with a 58-44 win over Bear River, their first state title since 1974.

Morgan got off to a fast start and never trailed defeating Region 11 rival Bear River for the third time this season.

The first two meetings between these teams was decided by one point but Morgan held Bear River to just 34 percent shooting from the field and forced 17 turnovers.

Bear River star Wade Miller was held to just 5 points on 2-of-10 shooting.

Nine different Morgan players scored in the game as Morgan finished the season with an 18-game winning streak.
