For twenty years, BYU and Utah Head Football coaches have been battling on the golf course. The "Rivalry for Charity" has been huge, raising more than a million dollars for the Kidney Foundation of Utah.
Yesterday at the Salt Lake Country Club Utah coach Kyle Whittingham and BYU coach Bronco Mendenhall went against each other for the fourth time. Utah coach Kyle Whittingham won the annual "Rivalry for Charity" by six strokes.
After losing to Whittingham's team for the third year in a row, Mendendall sang an altered version of Utah Man, adding in lines about BYU.
However, losing the tournament may mean winning the annual Holy War in football. For the past three years, the coach that has lost the "Rivalry for Charity" golf event ends up winning the BYU vs. Utah football game in November.
