PROVO — The BYU Cougars played their last home game of the season Saturday night when they hosted the Idaho Vandals. BYU was hoping to get bowl eligible on Senior Night and all took was one quarter of play for the Cougars to seal up that bowl invite.

BYU was up 28-7 before the end of the first quarter.

"Highest-scoring home quarter for BYU since 35-point 2nd quarter v. UCLA in 2008," tweeted the Voice of the Cougars @GregWrubell.

The final TD of the first quarter came on defense when Spencer Hadley recovered a bad snap in the end zone.

"Nice gift Spencer Hadley. Touchdown!!! Idaho is horrible," tweeted @_TheFarmer.

While Idaho did have their work cut out for them, they did manage to do something that Boise State, Georgia Tech, Hawai'I and Utah State couldn't, score an offensive touch down.

Brigham Young Cougars wide receiver Cody Hoffman (2) jumps over Idaho Vandals linebacker Sua Tuala (35) as BYU plays Idaho in the Cougar's final home football game on 2012 Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012,in Provo, Utah. (Submission date: 11/10/2012)

"And there goes BYU's shutout. A 33 yard TD pass by Idaho. 70 yards in six plays," tweeted @HarmonWrites.

"Well that's embarrassing. Idaho TD in the first quarter," tweeted @geoffBYU.

"That Idaho TD was Bronco showing his Christian charity," tweeted @FranciscoRoRuiz.

Idaho managed to get two field goals later in the game, but that would be it for the Vandals. BYU on the other hand, they just kept finding the end zone, especially Cody Hoffman.

"Riley Nelson tosses up a fade to Cody Hoffman as Idaho goes offside before the snap. Hoffman hauls it in, 35-7," tweeted @VanquishTheFoe.

That was one of Hoffman's three TD's on the night. While the touchdowns were impressive it was a first down grab that was likely his most impressive play of the night.

"Great play by Hoffman, leaps over two defenders and falls forward for the first down. Hoffman now with 108 yards," tweeted @BYUCougars.

Hoffman would end the night with 109 yards and three touchdowns and he barely played in the second half.

Nelson had a fairly good night with 236 yards through the air and three TD's along with 49 yards on the ground.

James Lark entered the game in the third and while he had some issues he managed to get some good throws and moved the Cougars down the field and into the end zone.

"Senior James Lark throws a TD pas to Freshman Cody Raymond. BYU up 49-10," tweeted @byutvsports.

"James Lark has thrown a touchdown pass. Let there be a grand feast in his honor. Bring hither the finest meats and cheeses," tweeted @theshums.

BYU rolled to their sixth win of the season with a 52-13 victory and the Cougars are now headed to the Poinsettia Bowl in San Diego.

Up next for the Cougars is San Jose State on the road on November 17.
