SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah man accused of making thousands of homemade painkillers and anti-anxiety pills while stashing half a dozen guns and more than $1 million in cash is pleading not guilty.

Court records show 26-year-old Aaron Shamo entered the plea Wednesday to a charge of possession of fentanyl with intent to distribute.

Prosecutors are also asking for the cash two cars to be forfeited.

His lawyer Adam Bridge has asked for Shamo to be released with an ankle monitor, saying agents already seized his possessions and cash, but a judge kept him in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.

Prosecutors say agents found nearly 100,000 fentanyl and Xanax pills, cash and guns at Shamo's Cottonwood Heights home and a West Jordan stash house.
