Kamas mayor crashes school bus after suffering heart attack

KAMAS, Utah (AP) — Utah Highway Patrol says the mayor of Kamas suffered a heart attack while driving, causing him to crash a school bus into a power pole.

The Deseret News reports (http://bit.ly/2gzOWXv ) that Lewis Marchant was westbound on State Route 150 Monday when he suffered the heart attack, causing the bus to swerve to the right and strike a power pole.

There were no passengers on the South Summit School District bus at the time of the crash.

Marchant was taken by ambulance to Park City Medical Center and later flown by medical helicopter to medical Center in Murray.
