RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 37-year-old Reno woman has been arrested as a suspect in the fatal shooting of man at a nature park along the Truckee River on the west side of town.

Reno police responded to a call about shots fired at Oxbow Park shortly after 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

They found the reporting party who told them he heard the shot and found a male victim lying on the ground inside the park.

Police say the victim had been shot once in the torso. He was taken to Renown Medical Center where he later died.

Detectives say they established probable cause to arrest Katherine Fletcher for suspicion of open murder with the use of a deadly weapon. They describe her as an acquaintance of the victim, but have released no other details.
