Authorities say federal charges have been filed against a man who said he had a bomb and drove his dump truck through a security gate at an FBI office in Pittsburgh.
Police say New Waterford, Ohio, resident Thomas Richard Ross went through eight or nine red lights and stopped at the gates of the FBI building Tuesday but ignored orders to surrender and floored the gas pedal, ramming a gate.
FBI special agent Gregory Heeb says no explosives or weapons were found and there appears to be no connection to terrorism.
The U.S. attorney's office says Ross will be face federal charges of damaging government property.
Ross has been treated for minor injuries and taken to jail, where he can't be reached for comment. No listed phone number for him can be found. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

Police say Ross went through eight or nine red lights and stopped at the gates of the FBI building but ignored orders to surrender and floored the gas pedal, ramming the gates.
FBI special agent Gregory Heeb says the crash appears to have no connection to terrorism. He says no explosives or weapons were found to suggest the driver meant to attack the building.
Ross is hospitalized and can't be reached for comment. No listed phone number for him can be found. It's unclear if he has an attorney.

An FBI spokesman says the crash of a dump truck through a security gate at the agency's offices in Pittsburgh appears to have "no nexus to terrorism."
The driver is from Ohio. FBI special agent Gregory Heeb says authorities hope to release more information about him Tuesday.
The truck had been driving erratically and was stopped near the FBI offices by a Pittsburgh motorcycle officer. Authorities say the driver told the officer he planned to ram the gate and then drove a short distance and did that.
The driver is being treated at a hospital.
Heeb says the FBI examined the truck and found no explosives or other weapons suggesting the driver meant to attack the building.

A dump truck driver from Ohio has crashed his vehicle through the security gate of the FBI's offices in Pittsburgh, injuring himself but no one else.
Special Agent Gregory Heeb says the truck was moving erratically and running through stop signs and red lights, promoting Pittsburgh police to pull it over around 11 a.m. Tuesday. Heeb says the driver told police he wanted to ram the gate, sped away and then smashed into the gate.
The truck was disabled by security barriers that are meant to prevent vehicles from driving into the office complex on the city's South Side.
FBI agents checked the truck for bombs and found nothing.
Heeb says the FBI is working with police to determine charges. The man's name wasn't immediately released.
