LAUGHLIN, Nev. (AP) — An autistic woman is dead after police say her father left her and her twin sister in a hot RV while he stayed at a hotel in Nevada last week.
Fifty-one-year old Roger Carter Killam is scheduled to appear in court Thursday on two counts of neglecting a vulnerable person. Court documents didn't indicate whether he has an attorney.
Police say Killam left his 25-year-old daughters in a parked RV without air conditioning or water while he and his girlfriend stayed overnight at a Laughlin hotel. Authorities say the other sister also appeared to have mental disabilities.
Police say they found Tammara Killam's body on the bathroom floor.
The father told police the women had phones, but the daughter said they couldn't use them because they had no minutes.
