SAGLE, Idaho (AP) — A 15-month-old boy found face down in a northern lake has died.

The Bonner County Daily Bee reports (http://bit.ly/1TLpIDy) in a story on Thursday that the boy died at a Spokane, Washington, hospital.

Authorities say the boy was found in Jewel Lake on April 27 and cardiopulmonary resuscitation helped expel some of the water from his lungs.

Bonner County Sheriff's Det. Sgt. Gary Johnston says the boy was on life support but succumbed.

Johnston says the father on an earlier occasion had shown the boy frogs at the water's edge. It's believed the boy let himself out of the lakeside home early in the morning to search for frogs.

Johnston says it's an unfortunate accident.
