CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A bill that would limit the number of hours Wyoming students can spend taking statewide assessment tests is moving on to the House floor.
The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1PoeRgV ) that the House Education Committee unanimously voted on Wednesday to advance the proposal, which would limit assessments to 1 percent of total student-teacher "contact time."
The proposal would go into effect for the 2017-18 school year and would help the state move away from the Proficiency Assessment for Wyoming Students tests.
The bill will not head to the House floor where it must pass three votes before it can be considered by the Senate.
