DELL RAPIDS, S.D. (AP) — A judge has issued a permanent restraining order against a former Dell Rapids teacher accused of inappropriately texting a student.

The Argus Leader reports (http://argusne.ws/1Wf1mCh ) the judge on Tuesday ordered the 45-year-old man to stay away from the victim, her home, her job and Dell Rapids High School.

Court documents allege the former teacher sent sexually explicit messages to a female student via Facebook in December. The student had previously obtained a temporary protection order against the former music teacher.

The man has not been charged with a crime. He resigned from his position last month.
