SHELLEY, Idaho (AP) — A Shelley city prosecutor has dropped a misdemeanor battery charged filed against a former high school athletic director.
KIDK-TV reports (http://goo.gl/aw2cTe ) that Shelley City Prosecutor Garrett Sandow said the city agreed to drop its charge against David Hadley if he would submit his resignation as a teacher and athletic director. He resigned from his position with the Shelley School District on Monday.
Hadley was charged with misdemeanor battery stemming from an incident on April 1 involving a female student. He appeared in court Friday, where a judge dismissed the charge.
Hadley's attorney, Shane T. Reichert, said in statement that Hadley maintains his innocence and his "resignation is in no way an admission of guilt to the battery charge."
