LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. (AP) — A Belgian couple wanted for allegedly stealing luggage from the Las Vegas Airport for more than a year has been captured in Arizona.

Lake Havasu City police said Thursday that 39-year-old Kristof De Smet and 36-year-old Sandy De Backer are being held on possession of stolen property and fugitive from justice warrants.

Las Vegas police issued felony warrants for both.

Investigators say the couple allegedly flew into Las Vegas from Belgium three times in the last 18 months.

They say the suspects removed other airline customers' bags each trip.

Authorities learned the couple was attending the Jet Ski World Finals in Lake Havasu and arrested them Wednesday.

A search warrant of their vacation rental led to the discovery of suitcases, purses and other items associated with the thefts.
