LAS VEGAS (AP) — A 30-year-old Las Vegas woman is due in court Monday on felony drunken driving charges after she was accused of driving a car that killed one pedestrian and critically injured another on a sidewalk near two elementary schools.
Police say Nicole Johnson failed field sobriety tests after the 2007 Honda Civic she was driving veered off Maryland Parkway about 7 a.m. Wednesday near Gary Avenue and hit 78-year-old Richard Glen Bryan and 75-year-old Marko Kustudia.
Bryan died at the scene.
Kustudia was taken to Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in critical condition.
Johnson is being held at the Clark County jail.
The crash was near Roberta Cartwright and Roger Gehring elementary schools.
