WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah (AP) — A couple who had been hiding from California authorities for 17 years has been arrested in West Valley City on suspicion of child sex abuse.
U.S. Marshals on Wednesday stormed a West Valley City duplex where William Lloyd Balser and Robin Robinson had reportedly been living under different names.
Police say 56-year-old Balser had committed violent acts against children using force and intimidation in California. He was wanted for alleged offenses that included unlawful sex with a child, lewd acts with a child and continuous sexual abuse of child.
The couple had evaded police in Manteca, California since 1998. Officers were led to their West Valley home by a recent tip.
The couple had denied their true identities which were later confirmed by fingerprints.
