KEENE, N.D. (AP) — A three-vehicle crash in McKenzie County has killed three people and injured three others.
The Highway Patrol didn't immediately identify any of the people involved in the incident shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday on a county road north of Keene.
Authorities say a car driven by an Arizona woman tried to pass a pickup, then hit the truck after noticing an oncoming vehicle and trying to get back into her original lane. The truck collided head-on with the oncoming sport utility vehicle.
The SUV overturned in the ditch. The Idaho man driving it died at the scene, along with a male passenger from Michigan. A male passenger from Watford City died at a Minot hospital.
Another SUV passenger and the pickup's two occupants were injured. The car's driver wasn't hurt.
