LAS VEGAS (AP) — State officials say a female inmate is on the loose after escaping from a work crew in the Las Vegas area.
The Nevada Department of Corrections says 21-year-old Kerran Dade ran off at about 2:45 p.m. Tuesday. She'd been working with the Department of Forestry near U.S. Route 95 and Wyoming Avenue in eastern Las Vegas.
Corrections officials say the department's Office of the Inspector General is investigating the escape, and law enforcement agencies have been notified.
Dade had been in state custody since May and is serving one to four years for an attempted home invasion conviction out of Clark County.
