MOORESVILLE, N.C. (AP) — Authorities say a man has been arrested after the boat he was driving ran over and killed a 17-year-old girl on a kneeboard in Lake Norman.
Investigators said 49-year-old Keith Cerven was charged with boating while intoxicated and may face more charges after prosecutors review the case.
Authorities sat Cerven was driving a pontoon boat around 9 p.m. Saturday when he ran up behind the teen, striking and killing her. The name of the girl has not been released.
Cerven was released from the Iredell County jail Sunday. It wasn't known if he had a lawyer.
