MCKEAN, Pa. (AP) — A former northwestern Pennsylvania university student has been ordered to stand trial on attempted homicide and other charges in what police say was a drug-related shooting of two other students.
The Erie Times-News (http://bit.ly/1f8p4Bh) reports 20-year-old Devin Stevenson, of Venus, Venango County, was an Edinboro University student when the shooting occurred at an off-campus apartment March 20.
Police testified Stevenson arrived at the police station covered in blood, saying he had shot two men who tried to rob him.
Stevenson's attorney, David Ridge, says the evidence is hearsay and should be thrown out because one of those shot remained hospitalized and the other alleged victim didn't respond to a subpoena for Thursday's preliminary hearing and had a video statement played instead.
Police contends Stevenson was selling nearly $2,000 worth of marijuana when he shot the men.
