BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The trustees of a community college that purchased a plot of land at twice its assessed value will likely seek an appraisal of the property.
The Idaho Statesman reports (http://bit.ly/1EgLq85 ) that the College of Western Idaho Board of Trustees Chairwoman Mary Niland says the school will consider an appraisal after receiving criticism from Treasure Valley residents.
She says she does not want to speculate on what the board will do with the appraisal results.
Ada County Commissioner David Case asked Niland in a Tuesday letter to pull out of the land deal all together because of the high sale price.
CWI agreed in April to buy a site west of Downtown Boise for $8.8 million for a future academic building.
The county assessor values the property at $3.6 million.
