FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Flagstaff Police are working with school officials to come up with a way to combat a recent spate of school lockdowns.
The Arizona Daily Sun reports (http://bit.ly/1Gf2O3s) someone called Marshall Elementary for the second time in two weeks Monday afternoon from a computer-generated voice saying they were inside the school.
A handful of other Flagstaff schools have received similar calls and been put on lockdown. At least two other schools in the state received calls last week as well in what police call "swatting," or prank calls that lead to emergency police intervention. Officers swept the schools and gave students the all clear in each case.
KNAU radio in Flagstaff reports police and school officials are holding a joint meeting at Flagstaff High School 6 p.m. Tuesday to address the issue.
