CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Charlotte police say they are investigating the death of a 24-year-old man who died after apparently being struck with a blunt object.
A news release Friday from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department says officers were conducting traffic control on Wednesday when the victim approached complaining of medical issues.
The victim, later identified as Adam Kent Smith, was taken to a hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The medical examiner says he died as a result of blunt force trauma.
Detectives are seeking more information about the victim and what he was doing on Wednesday. They say Smith stood a little over 4 feet and was affected by a medical condition that resulted in his short stature.
