COALVILLE, Utah (AP) — A 71-year-old man killed when a Dodge Ram rear-ended his SUV on Interstate 80 has been identified.
KSL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1bBI0pS) that George O. Frazier of Woodruff died on Thursday after being ejected from his vehicle in a crash near the Coalville Interchange.
Utah Highway Patrol said Frazier was driving slowly in the far right lane because his car had mechanical problems. The Ram came up behind him at freeway speeds.
Neither Frazier nor his female passenger was wearing a seatbelt. The passenger was critically injured and taken to the University of Utah hospital.
The driver Ram was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.
The eastbound lane of I-80 near Coalville was briefly closed on Thursday night.
