GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) — A former south Mississippi teacher will spend 10 years in federal prison after admitting he molested male students between 1999 and 2013.
William Richard Pryor pleaded guilty in federal court in December to two counts of transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity. According to court documents, Pryor took students on trips on several occasions, during which he would molest the students. Authorities said there were several other victims, in addition to the two involved in the guilty pleas, in cases dating back many years.
WLOX TV (http://bit.ly/1Gd78zN ) reports that some victims' statements about how the molestations affected their lives were read in court Monday.
The 69-year-old Pryor was sentenced to 10 years on each count. The sentences will run concurrently.
