SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police say they have arrested two teenagers suspected of vandalizing an elementary school in Saratoga Springs.
Authorities said Sunday the boys, ages 14 and 15, broke into the Sage Hills Elementary School three times in January, stealing Kindle Fire tables and leaving graffiti that that implied a threatening countdown.
Investigators say the words reading "7 days down" and "6 days down" were intended as a signature rather than a threat.
Saratoga Springs spokesman Owen Jackson says the teens got into the school by breaking windows or forcing doors open, and the school is adding new security measures.
Jackson says the teens destroyed the tablets with a bow and arrow and left $4,200 worth of damage.
