ATLANTA (AP) — The former head of a Georgia college's fundraising foundation has pleaded guilty to stealing its money.
Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens' office says Dawn Cook, who formerly led the West Georgia Technical College Foundation, entered her plea Thursday in Carroll County Superior Court.
Prosecutors said Cook used her job to funnel money to herself from both the foundation and the Douglasville-based college. They say in all she stole more than $25,000.
Cook pleaded guilty to four counts of theft by taking. A judge sentenced her to five years on probation. Cook was also ordered to pay $25,067 in restitution and perform 200 hours of community service.
