MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AP) — Accreditation of Southern Arkansas University's College of Business has been extended for five years.

The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business agreed to extended accreditation following a peer review.

The peer review team highlighted the students' satisfaction with the college's open-door policy and small class sizes, as well as the personal attention given to students by its faculty.

Fewer than 10 percent of all colleges and schools of business worldwide have the distinction of being accredited by the organization. Small class sizes and a low student-to-teacher ratio ensure a personal environment in which students have access to their professors and the ability to take advantage of all the opportunities available.

Over the past five years, about 200 SAU business students have received credit for internships at Fortune 500 companies.
