CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — The hospital in Cheyenne plans to try to recruit three to five new internal medicine physicians over the coming year.

Cheyenne Regional Medical Center CEO Margo Karsten says the physicians either could work for the hospital or work in private practice in Cheyenne.

Internal medicine doctors are specialists who diagnose and treat adults. Often they handle one or more chronic illnesses in the same patient.

The Wyoming Tribune Eagle reports (http://bit.ly/1AXLBXX) the hospital currently has affiliations with two internal medicine physicians and a nurse practitioner.
