LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada prison officials say a 43-year-old inmate from the Reno area is dead after he was admitted earlier this month to a Las Vegas hospital.

The Nevada Department of Corrections issued a statement Friday saying Russell William Bluebaugh died Wednesday at Valley Hospital Medical Center.

The department says the Clark County coroner will conduct an autopsy.

Bluebaugh had been hospitalized since Dec. 4 with an unspecified chronic medical condition.

Prison officials say he arrived in state prison May 14 to serve a four-to-10 year sentence on a burglary conviction in Washoe County.
