LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas say a 27-year-old California man has been arrested in the slaying of a woman who was shot dead on a gritty stretch of sidewalk a block west of the Las Vegas Strip.
Kevin Trent Meade Jr. was being held Tuesday in a jail in Riverside County, California, pending an extradition hearing and his transfer in custody to Nevada.
Records show that Meade was arrested Sunday in Hemet, California, on a Las Vegas murder warrant and multiple felony drug charges.
The Clark County coroner says 27-year-old Cassandra Rosete was shot in the back and neck before she was found dead a little before 5:30 a.m. Saturday on Industrial Road behind the Circus Circus hotel casino.
A motive for the slaying wasn't immediately made public.
