CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada prison inmate who had been serving time for a Clark County murder since 1975 has died.

Nevada Department of Corrections officials announced Friday that 69-year-old James Taylor died Tuesday at a Carson City hospital.

Taylor, who had been housed at the Northern Nevada Correctional Center near Carson City, was sentenced to life without parole for the 1972 murder of 19-year-old Vicki Price.

An autopsy will be performed to pinpoint his cause of death.
