RANDOLPH, Vt. (AP) — Layoffs could be coming to Vermont Technical College in Randolph.
New President Dan Smith says the college is grappling with a $2.4 million budget shortfall and addressing that will be "highly unlikely" without cutting staff and possibly programs.
Part of the problem is that student enrollment has decreased by about 160 students to around 1,300 in the last three years.
Smith tells WCAX-TV that the school should have a better idea about the possible layoffs in the coming weeks.
