EL PASO, Texas (AP) — FBI agents in West Texas and New Mexico have raided the offices of a former college and the house of its owners as part of an investigation that includes the U.S. Department of Education.
FBI spokesman Michael Martinez said three search warrants were served Wednesday and no arrests have been made. He declined to elaborate.
One campus of Anamarc College and the owners' house are in El Paso. Another campus is in Santa Teresa, New Mexico.
The El Paso Times reports Anamarc was a private college with an enrollment of more than 1,200 students, offering programs in medical-related fields.
It was co-owned by CEO Ana Maria Piña Houde and her husband, Marc Houde, the chief financial officer. The school closed in July, before the semester's end, because of financial difficulties.
