SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Several inmates at Utah's state prison are planning to run a 5K race next week.
The Utah State Prison in a Friday statement said the contest will be a first for about 40 men at the facility.
It is set to take place on prison grounds at 7 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28.
Participants in the run are part of the facility's substance abuse program for male inmates.
The program lasts at least one year. It is focused on responsible living and involves counseling, education and work programs.
