RUFFSDALE, Pa. (AP) — The Pennsylvania Game Commission says a deer that attacked a woman outside a paint store at a strip mall tested positive for rabies.

Thirty-year-old Rachael McGough (mc-GAW') manages the Sherwin Williams store in East Huntingdon Township. She saw the deer outside a state liquor store in the same shopping center and stopped to take a picture of it as she arrived for work about 7 a.m. Tuesday.

McGough pushed and batted the deer away using bags she was carrying before two men ran over from a fast food restaurant and subdued the deer. McGough says the animal had scabs on its head and green foam coming from its mouth.

The men tied the animal's legs to subdue it, and the animal died before a wildlife conservation officer arrived.

McGough wasn't scratched or bitten by the deer.
