LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles Marathon has a new sponsor.
The 30-year-old race has agreed to a multi-year deal with Sketchers Performance to make the Manhattan Beach shoe company the title sponsor. Next year's race is Feb. 14.
The deal announced Thursday calls for Sketchers Performance to outfit course volunteers and staff and provide finishers' shirts for all runners. The shoe company already sponsors the Houston Marathon and elite runners Meb Keflezighi and Kara Goucher.
Honda was previously the longtime sponsor of the race owned by former Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt.
