CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers are keeping busy as they face down a deadline to pass bills out of the house where they were first introduced. Legislators must vote bills out of the full Senate or Assembly today to keep them alive. Some bills are exempt because they have a major fiscal impact or are being used as bargaining chips in negotiations.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Assembly members have approved a measure increasing residency requirements for candidates running for office. The measure is sponsored by Republican Assemblywoman Victoria Seaman and requires candidates for public office to live in their district for at least 180 days before filing. Current Nevada law only requires candidates to reside in their district for 30 days.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Lawmakers have passed a bill aimed at helping Nevada collect more tax revenue from online retailers. The U.S. Constitution's Commerce Clause prevents states from requiring a merchant to collect and turn over sales tax unless the business has a substantial base in that state. The bill creates the presumption that a company should collect and pay sales tax to the state if they have some physical presence in Nevada, unless they prove that their activity in the state is negligible.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Norwegian Air Shuttle says it will begin weekly direct flights from Las Vegas to Stockholm and Copenhagen this fall. The low-cost European airline says flights between Stockholm and Las Vegas will be available once a week starting Oct. 31. A once-a-week flight between Copenhagen and Las Vegas will start Nov. 10.
