CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The West Virginia Center for Professional Development is hosting training for Advanced Placement teachers this week in Charleston.

The professional development session will be held Tuesday through Thursday at Capital High School.

The Advanced Placement program offers students an opportunity to take college-level courses while in high school. They will receive college credit or advancement placement before they enter college.

The center says the session is designed to prepare teachers for teaching Advanced Placement courses.

Subject areas to be covered at the Charleston session range from art history to physics.
