SALT LAKE CITY-- Salt Lake Police are looking for two victims involved in a past domestic violence case, and are hoping a 13-month-old child is okay.
It's an unusual case, in that the victims are the father and his young son. The perpetrator is the child's mother.
Police say there was a domestic violence incident on December 28th.
"The father was present as well as the child," said Police Sgt. Robin Snyder. "They both had injuries, and we were never able to make contact with the mother, because she fled the scene before we got there."
Then last month, Sanchez, the toddler and the mother disappeared.
"Our concern is the welfare of the child. We don't know whether or not they've gotten back together, which is the big concern if mom is still around this child. She's the one who abused the child in the first place," Snyder said.
She says the last time they had contact with the father, 24-year-old Julio Cima-Sanchez, he was trying to get a protective order against 21-year-old Angelica Fernandez-Roque. At this point, Snyder says, they just want to check on the safety of the couple's son.
Police say the family has no ties in Utah and may have gone to Mexico. If you have any information on their whereabouts, call Salt Lake City Police.
