Police in two cities are looking for similarities behind two robberies involving a bicycle-riding bandit.

South Salt Lake Police say a man wearing a dark hoodie and a ski mask walked into the Jang Soo Jang Korean restaurant on 2701 S. State Street Monday around 4:30 p.m. and forced two people to the floor and grabbed cash from the till.

South Salt Lake police spokesman Gary Keller said the suspect then ran across the street and hopped on a bike. "They're so maneuverable. They can cut through yards, they can go places where a car can't travel, and so they can be very evasive," he said.

A similar robbery happened last week in Salt Lake City. Police say on Monday, Nov. 24, a man walked into the Panda Buffet on 1025 W. North Temple and grabbed money from the till.

"We're going to get our detectives, get with their detectives, and compare the M.O. on this," Keller said.

In both cases, the man brandished a small, black, semi-automatic handgun.
